Ankle Length 3/4 Sleeves Pleated Maxi | WomanWithin’s Full Sweep Surplice Neckline Dress
I love the feeling of a long, flowing dress. The way the fabric moves and sways with every step is both regal and seductive. My fascination with these types of dresses is probably why I am so drawn to this Box-Pleated Dress from the Chelsea Studio® collection.
Box style pleats, along with an empire waistline, makes the fabric of this dress move fluidly. Since the box pleats are only on the front of the gown, the material gathers to drape loosely and elegantly over your midsection. The empire waist helps keep the fabric moving freely all around your lower body. Princess seaming on both the bodice and lower portion of the dress maintains the overall feminine shape. A surplice neckline creates a wraparound look, which minimizes your bust. The neckline combined with the princess seaming can create a boxy effect, which is unflattering on women with already broad shoulders.
Color choices are distinctive and show off the lines and details of the dress. That being said, not all colors work for all body types and complexions. Slate is a neutral shade that works for professional and formal occasions. It’s a bit drab, so accessorize carefully and with a minimalist approach. Cadet Blue is lively and complements most hair colors and skin tones. Boysenberry is playful, but this shade may not work well for blondes and redheads.

[…] Maxi dress is very forgiving and looks good on any body type, but it looks better if you are of an average height or tall. If you are a petite girl, you would like to walk away from this trend. It may drown you. If you have good calves, maybe you would want to show them off by wearing a gaucho or a capri. […]
