Born Vickie Lynn Hogan, Anna’s early life was filled with many obstacles. She was raised without a father, dropped out of high school, and was married and pregnant by age 17. Being a small-town girl in Texas, Anna longed for a life of excitement. After her first marriage ended she left for Hollywood to be a star like her idol Marilyn Monroe. She didn’t do well as an actress and had to work several jobs to pay the bills, including being a dancer in a strip joint. It was there that she met her second husband, 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. Their marriage was short lived since Marshall died after one year. Anna found herself in the tabloids as she fought for her spousal rights to receive part of her late husband’s money. The trial went all the way to the Supreme Court, and in 2006 she was awarded with a portion of the estate.
From there Anna became a minor celebrity and Playboy model. Struggling with her weight over the years, she eventually became a spokeswoman for Trim Spa the diet supplement. Tragedy hit when her 20-year-old son died from a drug overdose in 2006. Anna never quite recovered from the incident, even after the joyous birth of her daughter, Dannielynn, during the same year. In 2007, at the age of 39, Anna was found unresponsive in a hotel room after an accidental drug overdose from prescription medication.
