You may find this hard to believe, but I have never had the pleasure (or the misfortune) of shopping with the masses on Black Friday. While I was always aware of the mystical event, I could never bring myself to get excited about waking up at the crack of dawn the day after I’ve slaved in the kitchen over a hot stove to scour the earth for the best deals on everything from holiday gifts to regular household items. Well, this year I did it and I must say, with the exception of crazy Walmart shoppers, it was not as horrendous as I thought it might be.

That being said, I think next year I will opt for the much less strenuous point and click shopping that can be done in a pair of slippers from the comfort of my living room couch. Even after scoring such great schwag at stores, I couldn’t help but browse some of the online deals retailers are running right now. For example, this softly gathered top with Grecian influences is going for 40% of its original price at $35.70 as apart of Lane Bryant’s Thanksgiving sale that runs until Sunday November 29th.

With thin keyhole slits at the front and back of the sheer chiffon piece, the top radiates with elegance and sophistication. A wide bateau neckline and a gathered sash waist make this a great piece for women of any bust size. Normally, large busted women do not look good in bateau necklines, but the thick waist provides excess room for a bigger chest. My only criticism for this design is that I wish the waist band was a bit thinner. Such a large sash all around the body will make the lower of the blouse look large and unflattering to larger size women.
