Black plants are (or at least they should be) a staple in every woman’s fashion wardrobe. That being said, there are only so many ways to do them before you get bored. So anytime I see a pair that spices things up a bit, I take notice. The side sashed mesh palazzo pants from Catherine’s do just that.

The pants are covered in a thin mesh layer, otherwise known as a georgette style, that extends about two inches beyond the actual palazzos. This style creates a whimsical visual and makes the pants seem as if they fit effortlessly over the legs. Because they’re wide legged by nature, they flatter the shape of any woman. The polyester side sash is made of the same material that the pants are an/d covers up an elastic waist.

Unfortunately, they only come in size 1x to 5x with no exceptions made for tall or petite women. With a 28 inch inseam this could be a problem. I’m also concerned about the durability of the pants. Described as hand washable, I’m concerned over the way the mesh overlay will begin to look over time. And if you don’t own a steamer, in the words of Joey Tribbiani, “Forget about it.”
