Sweaters. I love them. I can’t get enough of them. But once I’ve worn the cardigans and the pullovers, I’m pretty much out of options. Well, not if the people at Woman Within have anything to do with it. Their Ellos Collection handkerchief sweater is their answer for those of you who are as bored with traditional looking winter wear as I am.

Long sleeves with detailed ribbing at the cuffs and an artful draping take this would be blanket and turn it into a sophisticated sweater for the fashion forward woman. But just as one might find the draping to be appealing, another might look at this design and call it nothing more than a backwards Snuggie (the blanket with sleeves on the infomercials). Beyond aesthetics, those of you who like buttons on your sweaters would be at a loss, as this cardigan is designed to have a flyaway opening.

The acrylic knit that the sweater is made of, although durable, is potentially susceptible to stretching.

Despite any drawbacks, I find the piece to be a way to take sweaters to the next level. While the Sahara orange ombre color worn on the model would be best for casual outings, the black, wine, and teal versions of the sweater could be nicely paired with dark wash jeans or a dressy pair of trousers for more ornate occasions.
