Many of us enjoy wearing skirts throughout spring and summer, but I’m in the mood for something a little different. Plain colored skirts are essential, but dull. Printed skirts are more interesting, but still not quite right. For something distinctively different, try this Embroidered and Appliquéd Skirt.

Playful floral petals and leaves add intricate detail to this garment. With a solid background, the contrasting color appliqué flowers pop-out for instant attention. Like most appliqué, the image has a stenciled-on look. Matching embroidery thread outlines each shape and whimsically creates other patterns in the spaces in-between. Three color choices provide buyers with options to match almost any preference. Black Guava has a solid black background with vibrant rose pink guava appliqué and embroidery thread. Black French Lilac also focuses on a solid black background, but has subtle French lilac lavender accents. For a complete changeup, White Black uses a white background with silhouette black appliqué and embroidery thread.

Design wise, the skirt is fairly simplistic, allowing the appliqué to take center stage. Basic panels let the fabric drape freely. A turn back elastic waistband is comfortable and provides the option of slightly adjusting the length of the skirt by rolling the waistband. The 29 inch length should accommodate most women, but for shorter women the skirt may be too long. Normally, I would suggest hemming, but on this skirt hemming would ruin the appliqué feature.
