It’s no secret that I thoroughly enjoy getting dressed in costume getups when I’m headed out for a night on the town. With nautical detailing and a comfortable denim silhouette, this is the dress that Popeye’s girl Olive would have worn if she had the curves and slopes of today’s plus size woman. A sweetheart neckline makes this a great choice for medium to large busted women, while the six white front buttons and oversized draped pockets help minimize the waist and accentuate the hips. I typically would not advise plus size women to wear a dress with such large pockets right at the hips, but these are so perfectly placed that they actually improve the quality of the overall design.
All the exquisite detailing on the front of the dress makes the backside of this piece appear little more than underwhelming. But the elastic back means that women of large bust sizes should have no problem fitting into this 50’s era inspired outfit.
