If you live long enough you learn that things are not always as they seem. This life is filled with conundrums, double-edges swords, and enigmas. Sometimes these mysteries don’t turn out so well. The verdict is still out in the case of this two-fer sweater knit dress.

What appears to be a simple black dress with an extended, gray cardigan wrapped around it is really just one dress. Crazy, right. The long sleeved piece features banded sleeves that make the ensemble appear to be roomy and comfortable, a pleated neckline that created beautiful detailing, and a self-tie belt that adds to the overall illusion. It is slightly above the knee and a slightly appealing option for those of you looking for a dress as interesting as it is attractive.

However, it is not very functional. I would imaging that wearing the dress you might forget that it’s a two-fer and attempt to eliminate the sweater, only to realize you’re stuck in a one-piece. The rayon and cotton dress also lacks versatility and is destined to be an outfit worn only occasionally. Despite these facts, it’s worth a try if only for the illusory visual.
