This is not your grandmother’s swimsuit. This bandeau swimsuit was featured in the June, 2008, issue of Oprah’s “O” magazine. The suit, according to the online catalog page, has been improved for this season by the addition of slightly padded soft bra cups and extra side support. It is available in the following six colors: black, turquoise, brown, coral, aqua and rose.

The halter straps on the suit can be removed to convert it to a strapless swimsuit. The skirt provides some coverage without looking like a full swim dress. It also features full tummy control. The side shirring helps define the waistline. This swimsuit is available in sizes 16W through 26W. The size 18W measures 20 inches from the center of the neckline to the hem of the skirt. The center of the back to the hemline measures 19 inches. The skirt is 7 inches in length. The measurements on other sizes will vary slightly.

The customer reviews on this swimsuit were overwhelmingly positive. The only negative that I saw was that a couple of the customer reviewers said that the strap was too long, but that is an easy fix. So many of the reviewers expressed the angst involved in buying and wearing a swimsuit for plus size women. It warmed my heart to read how happy these women were with how they looked and felt in this suit. I don’t want to get on my soapbox here, but beautiful women come in all shapes and sizes and that fact needs to be celebrated by our society!
