When I hear the word jumpsuit, it immediately brings to mind images of the Osh Kosh B’gosh outfits my mother loved to put all of her children in for family outings. And it was never enough for us to just be in jumpsuits; we had to wear matching ones. But these days, jumpsuits have been given a grownup makeover and are made for women of every age.
I know some of you are probably thinking that jumpsuits are like glorified onesies that do nothing to flatter the body. But this surplice knit jumpsuit from Lane Bryant offers flattering details at every turn unlike other versions. First, it has sleeves, a feature that seems to be lacking from many of the tube top jumpsuits on magazine pages today. Second, the soft pleats that run from the waist of the suit to the floor give it a pleasant drape that serves to elongate the body. Third, an attached self tie belt enhances the waistline making it an option for more than just those women blessed with an hourglass shape. Lastly, it comes in the most slimming color on the market: black.

While it is hard for me to find many faults with this piece, others may not appreciate that at 79.50 it’s made out of a polyester/spandex blend. It also may not be the right choice for women who carry all of their weight in the middle. However, considering the jumpsuit eliminates the need to shop, and pay, for coordinating pieces, I think that it’s decently priced.
