I live in Chicago and this year in the Windy City it’s starting to get very cold, very early. It’s not even September and I’ve already pulled out some of my light sweaters and traded my beloved flip-flops for the warm retreat of closed toed ballet flats. But the one piece of clothing missing from my cold weather armor is a great pair of boots. Whether flat or heeled, I love what boots can do to change-up the monotony of any outfit. But despite my affinity for all things boot-y, It’s rare that I find a well made and comfortable pair in my size (12W) and with extra room for my large calves. But hold the phone and stop the presses. I think I’ve done it; found a pair made in my size, with a wide calf and comfortable to boot. The new “Jade” boots from the Step Up Comfort collection at Woman Within are a great solution to all of my dilemmas. These shoes come in sizes 7-12 with medium, wide, and extra wide options. The cushioned insole provides extra support and the covered 1″ wedge heel is a nice departure from the black heel that usually breaks up the fluidity of colored boots. Another nice feature is the folded collar of these boots. Because they’re adjustable, they can be worn successfully on both tall and short women.
