Talk about a flashback from the 1980s! Leggings have come back into fashion for women of all shapes and sizes. Wearing them instead of pants creates a sassy-retro look full of style and attitude. So I found the perfect pair of boots for winter weather. They’re fully functional, yet trendy and stylish. But now I’m starting to wonder if the pants that I own are worthy of their newfound compatriots. I was determine to try out a few different pairs of black leggings since they are one of the few trends I still haven’t tried. I got half way through an online purchase and realized that the black leggings I was so fond of wouldn’t really go well with the brown suede boots that I just bought. Perhaps a truly trendsetting fashionista could rock the black and brown without hesitation. I am not one of those people.
I will admit that I’m not always up on the latest fashion trends the minute they happen. But that being said, when I walk out of the house in an outfit, I don’t just want to look good. I want to look great. But I also strive to make sure I wear standout pieces, if not always, at least occasionally.
One trend that I saw emerge on the fall fashion runways recently was print bottoms. This trend intrigued me because I thought there would be no possible way to make print bottoms work for plus sized women. When I saw these purple and black buffalo check leggings on Torrid a light bulb went off in my head. Given the right print, a plus sized woman could wear this trend.
Believe or not leggings are back in style now along with a number of other eighties fashions. I personally like wearing leggings because they are so comfortable. I mean what could be better, they are soft, stretchy and don’t have a ton of unnecessary fabric. I love these Torrid black Capri leggings because they combine the comfort and fit of the legging with the summery capri pant.
