You should never wear white after Labor Day. This is one of the many fashion myths that have been perpetuated over time by some sort of secret and crazy logic. Rules were meant to be broken and what better rule to break than an outdated fashion one. I personally do not know where, when or why people say this, but I do know that I love to wear white during the fall and winter seasons. This may sound funny, but white fashion pieces are like black ones to me: they can be worn with just about any other color at any time, in any season and be made to look fantastic. One way to add winter white fashion to your wardrobe is by wearing an elegant pencil skirt to the office. This brocaded skirt by Jessica London is fantastic because its texture makes almost as powerful a statement as the stark white color. The raised fabric of this cotton, nylon, and spandex creation could be expertly paired with a colorful turtleneck and a matching brocaded jacket for day to night magnificence. If you’re still uncomfortable breaking a mythic fashion faux paux, then consider the same brocaded skirt in black or red. With a pair of sheer tights, this look can be work well into next spring.
Finding the right skirt for your body type can be tricky business. Short skirts don’t work well on tall frames and a long flowing skirt can drown out women of a shorter variety. One type of skirt that works well on a multitude of frames is the pencil skirt. If your ultra tall the skirt may fall a little above the knee but it will remain long enough to be wearable at any age. However on short frames, pencil skirts hit a little lower than the normal knee length, but they are not nearly long enough to wash out a plus size petite figure.
